How Most Dental Insurance Works

It’s very important to finish a treatment under your plan once you’ve already begun it using that plan. It is by far the best way to avoid penalties from your insurance company. You can also more effectively maximize coverage when you finish treatment under a plan you’ve already started. We’ll break down the details of your insurance when you visit our office, but we also encourage you to give any and all provisions a closer look before beginning additional treatments in the future.

What Dental Insurance Plans Cover

Usually you can expect partial coverage at the very least for your child’s orthodontic care when it is deemed medically necessary. If they need braces to fix their jaw alignment or even to simply make chewing easier, insurance is typically more likely to offer some level of coverage. Make sure to confirm that you have fulfilled the current waiting period and enroll ahead of the beginning of your treatment. This allows coverage to be provided before your child actually begins their orthodontic care.

In-Network Plans vs. Out-of-Network Plans

If a dentist or practice is ”in-network,” it means that they have agreed to charge certain prices for services as determined by a contract with an insurance company. Simply Orthodontics wants to make all of its treatments affordable, so we’re happy to work with many providers as well as in-network and out-of-network plans.
